Andre De Wet - The General

Meet Andre, the General Manager of Awards and Trophies and resident braai master!  If you're lucky enough to score an invite to one of his famous braais, you'll be in for a treat; with his secret spice rubs and marinades, he can turn a boring old sausage into a boerewors spectacular!  Hailing all the way from South Africa, Andre is the man with a plan when it comes to streamlining business processes and procedures.  And when it comes to managing the team, he does it with a gentle hand - which helps to make our workplace a pleasure to be in. 

But don't let all that business talk fool you, when it comes to playtime, Andre knows how to have a good time! Whether he's shredding A-Line on his mountain bike, sinking a hole-in-one on the golf course, or camping with his family, he's always up for an adventure.   

When he's not bandaging himself up after mountain biking mishaps, Andre can be found relaxing with a beer in one hand, a coffee in the other, and a stick of biltong hanging out his mouth.

Claim to Fame:  When it comes to the braai, Andre is a legend.  He's the kind of guy who can turn a pile of meat into a feast for a king, and make it look easy in the process.  Legend has it that his marinade recipe is the stuff of dreams, and that his ability to control the heat on the grill is nothing short of wizardry.

Hero:  Andre's hero is not a person at all, but a magical creature that embodies all of his favorite things: a cross between a mountain biking unicorn, a braai-loving dragon, and a camping yeti.  This mythical being would have the ability to navigate any terrain on two wheels, grill up the most delicious meats with a single breath, and pitch a tent in record time with its monstrous strength.

Favourite Movie:  Andre's favorite movie is a little-known Australian indie flick called "Braai Hard: The Mountain Biking Chef".  It's a heartwarming tale of a South African expat who uses his mountain biking and braai skills to win over the hearts and stomachs of his new community in the Australian outback.  The movie features some epic mountain biking stunts, including a scene where the saffer hero races a kangaroo through the bush on his bike, all while grilling up a steak on the handlebars.  There's also a tear-jerking moment where he teaches a group of skeptical Aussies how to properly braai, bringing them together in a shared love of grilled meats.  Of course, there are some hilarious moments too, like when he accidentally sets fire to his campsite while trying to grill up some biltong.  But through it all, he remains a lovable and inspiring hero, reminding us that with a little determination, a lot of grilled meats, and transcendent mountain biking skills, anything is possible.
